Juan Carlos Torres Tovar
Juan is a graduate with honors of the ITESM Campus Guadalajara, majoring
in Finances. He is also master in economic and financial analysis by
the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain. He also got a diploma
in taxes by the “Instituto de Especialización para Ejecutivos”.
Fluid in 4 languages, he has collaborated in several multinational companies
in investment and risk valuation fields especially in Central and South
America while living in Miami Florida US; he gained well-recognized
experience in complex negotiations in countries such as Venezuela, Panama,
Honduras, Nicaragua and Guatemala. Juan Also worked for one of the largest
cement corporations world wide while living in Madrid Spain, and participated
in due diligence in Morocco, Egypt, France and Spain.
Back in Mexico in 2002, he became partner of “Routes Mergers &
Acquisitions” a consulting firm specialized in mergers, valuations
and startup operations. Among the operations they have been involved
in are the valuation, negotiation and selling of one of the largest
Mexican candy corporations to one of the largest chocolate companies
in the world. He has also served as a financial consultant to several
companies in Canada, United States, Brazil and Mexico.
In 2002 he founded SMARTNET SOFOM ENR, a small business financial institution
in which he has participated since as a permanent member of the risk
analysis committee.
In 2004 he participated in the start up operation of a new public transport
system in Mexico City and Toluca using helicopters.
He is also founder of FINAMED, a health care financial company opened
in 2005 and one of the fastest growing financial institutions in México.
FINAMED is now granting credits in Mexico, Guatemala and Southern California
in the United States, and it has now formed alliances with over 500
medical equipment producers-distributors, including some of the largest
medical producers worldwide.
In 2009 he opened “Medisupplies”, a health care importer,
distributor and producer.
Since 2002 he has been a member of “Fondo Unido de Jalisco”,
a non-profit organization seeking to provide financial aid to less fortunate
people in their community. Fondo Unido is a member of “United
Way”, one of the largest charity organizations in North America.
Finally, Juan Carlos Torres has served on the board of director of several
companies in areas such as agricultural, holdings, service providers,
health care, retailers, a newspapers corporation among others. He has
been a professor in some medicine universities, and he has participated
in commercial symposiums in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
